Introduction

Most smash room experiences involve turning up at a fixed venue. Rage Room Events flips that entirely; they come to you. A UK-wide mobile operation, they specialise in bringing high-energy destruction and chaos-based experiences directly to corporate offices, event venues, festivals, hotel grounds, and anywhere else you can park a van or set up a pod. If you're looking for something to make a team away day, wellness event, conference, or charity fundraiser genuinely memorable, this is a company worth knowing about. They hold £5 million public liability insurance as standard, supply full PPE for every participant, and have an experienced crew who handle everything from setup to takedown. Previous clients include Specsavers, Wavenet, and Levenmoth Academy, which gives a sense of the range of organisations they work with.

What's Included?

Every hire package includes full event facilitation by an experienced crew, from arrival and setup through to the end of the event and takedown. Full PPE is provided for each participant (helmets, gloves, coveralls, and face shields) along with a safety briefing before anyone steps in. £5 million public liability insurance is included with every booking as standard, covering participants, venue, and the Rage Room Events team throughout the event.

What can be smashed?

All breakable items are provided by Rage Room Events and are ceramic-based; no plastics or non-recyclable materials. Every item is sourced through donation rather than purchased new, intercepting pieces that would otherwise go to landfill. After each event, all fragments are collected, removed from the venue, and donated to a sustainability project where they're ground down and cast into concrete wildlife shelters for birds, bees, and butterflies. You won't be asked to bring or source anything yourself, and you won't be leaving a mess behind.

Rage Room Van

The most immersive of the five options, the Rage Room Van is a purpose-built, fully self-contained trailer that replicates the experience of a traditional fixed smash room; except it arrives at your venue ready to go. Participants suit up in full-length overalls, a full-face helmet, and heavy-duty gloves, receive a safety briefing, and then get to work destroying a range of objects inside the van. A perspex window allows spectators to watch safely from outside, which adds a nice social element to the whole thing. It can be set up in almost any outdoor space (a car park or hotel grounds work well) and functions in all weather conditions. Teams can be processed in scheduled slots throughout the day or at their leisure, making it flexible enough to sit alongside other activities at a larger event.

Smash Box Race

The most gamified of the options and the one best suited to large conferences or events where you need something that can involve a lot of people in a structured, energetic way. Teams race head-to-head through a series of challenges (including, brilliantly, screaming into a decibel meter and stomping balloons to retrieve secret codes) collecting PPE and unlocking clues along the way. The race culminates in a dramatic smash finale, where the winning team gets to destroy a piggy bank filled with medals using a portable Smash Box. Before the smash, participants are encouraged to decorate their piggy bank with thoughts and feelings, which gives the activity an unexpected reflective element alongside the chaos. It's designed specifically for maximum participation, making it ideal as a lunchtime energiser or competitive conference activity.

Bespoke Rage Rooms

For productions, brand activations, or events with a specific creative vision, Rage Room Events also offers fully custom-built smash room setups. Think themed props, sound effects, and bespoke lighting designed around a brief; whether that's a rock concert aesthetic complete with smashable guitars and keyboards, an action film set, or something else entirely. This option is aimed primarily at TV and film productions, music video shoots, and brand experiences, though it's available for any client with a specific concept in mind.

Smash & Paint Pods

A slightly lighter-touch option that works equally well indoors or outdoors and leaves no mess behind; a meaningful consideration if you're using a venue that might take a dim view of debris. The pods offer two different activities in one: a paint bomb experience where participants create their own canvas to take home, and a points-based smashing game where the aim is to destroy as many ceramic items as possible to earn the title of Champion Smasher. It's competitive, it's quick to rotate groups through, and the take-home canvas gives it a tangible souvenir angle that most smash experiences don't offer. Participants wear a full face shield and protective gloves; the pod itself is designed to contain all mess within its structure.

Setup Requirements

Rage Room Events is designed to be genuinely flexible on location. The Rage Room Van requires an outdoor space (a car park, hotel grounds, or similar flat open area works well) and being fully self-contained, it needs no connection to utilities or indoor facilities. The Smash & Paint Pods and Smash Box Race can be set up both indoors and outdoors, making them suitable for conference centres, office spaces, sports halls, and event venues as well as external locations. The Paint Tag arena similarly works inside or outside and comes with its own protective flooring and lighting built in. For all options, the crew handles full setup and takedown, so the only requirement from the venue or organiser is providing adequate space and access. It's worth contacting them in advance to confirm space dimensions for their chosen activity.
